Happy Valentine's Day!

Here are some of my grandchildren with the valentine's I made for them.

February 9, 2008 Saturday

We have had a good week. Dad did not drive school bus Monday and Tuesday, so he did extraction, our income taxes (Fed and State), cleaned the ashes out of the stoves, shoveled snow, etc.
Here is an update on the bus accident Dad was in: Wednesday he was on the bus nearly all day. A young man, about 16 yrs old, accidentally slid (icy road and he was going too fast) into Dad’s school bus out near the county line. I just dented the bus bumper a little but the man’s vehicle

was damaged some and he got the ticket–3 things–no registration or insurance because they just used the pickup to go pretty much on their property or near it. And he was going to fast. It was a bad day for the young man.

The snow is melting and the sun is shining.

Last night we went to the Sweetheart Ball and that was fun to get to visit. Wesley and Becky S. came to our table especially to visit with us. I thought that was kind of them.

WE are preparing to go to the temple this afternoon. Tomorrow night we will to the World Wide training. I am looking forward to helping Jennifer and being with their family when she has her baby.

We pray that you will be helped with your challenges and in making choices and that you will all be protected and have His Spirit to be with you, and we appreciate your prayers for us.

Have a great day!

Notes from WWTM

Notes I took at the World Wide Training meeting Feb 10:
Look first to one another, meaning the husband and wife.

Bring heaven into the home.

Treat each other with love and kindness and respect.

Beam and mote.

Have faith and a way will be opened up.

Joy from having children.

The family comes first!

Eat your meals together–at least one each day and have good conversation.

Keep praying and trying.

We never give up. Teach correct principles.

When being criticized for having another baby–are you trying to populate
the world? The one expecting replied,
“I can’t think of anyone better to
do it.” :)

Reclaim the joy of the Sabbath.
We go to renew covenants, the rest is
add ons.

Prayer

If we have a difficult task before us, Heavenly Father is pleased when we get on our knees and ask for help and then get on our feet and go to work. At times, Heavenly Father will counsel, guide, or comfort us while we are on our knees.~Pres. Hinckley

A Gift from our Grandfathers

This is INCREDIBLE ! The picture was taken in 1918. It is 18,000 men preparing for war in a training camp at Camp Dodge in Iowa . A gift from our grandfathers. . .

Icicle

Back yard Walnut tree. I substituted for Beth P. yesterday for the afternoon shift at the
temple. Then when I arrived, they gave me Maxine B. assignments and she was the sealer's assistant to her husband, Nephi.

About a year ago, a temple worker, Joan S., broke her foot--her high heel caught between tiles outside going home from the temple. She told us last night that she found out why her foot broke. It was so her husband could have immediate care when he had a heart attack. I think he
was at the hospital when she was getting well when he had a heart attack. She said that otherwise he would have been somewhere on the ranch when he had it and would have died if he had not had immediate care.

Feb 6 2008 Last night it was two degrees below 0 and today the high was 44 degrees. So it was nice today! This morning Dad got up and built a fire, so that felt good! We have a long and big ice cycle at the corner of our house. I took a picture of it.

It has been a good day, even though a man was going too fast out by the county line and he slid into the back of Dad's bus when Dad was substituting a kindergarten run. He was the father of the little girl Dad was taking home. So instead of doing his afternoon run, we went to Heber so he could take a drug test. Even though it was not Dad's fault, the test was required to be taken within 12 hours of the accident. It was a fun ride. The sun was shining and there was snow on either side of the road. After being home 4 days in a row, he enjoyed being gone most
of the day.

I had a fun visit with Aunt Kathie, Aunt Marilyn and Aunt Vi and Pres. Reed at lunch time.

Thank your Father in Heaven and His Beloved Son for the plan of happiness and the gospel principles upon which it is based. Be grateful for the ordinances and the covenants they have provided. I solemnly testify they have power to crown your life with peace and joy, to give
it purpose and meaning. You will learn that sadness and disappointment are temporary. Happiness is everlastingly eternal because of Jesus Christ. I solemnly witness that He lives, that He loves you, and that He will help you. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
